Like most actors, I spent a great deal of time and money searching for the "right" acting teacher for me, someone who would understand the value of the imagination and not play mind games (the "Method" type teachers I encountered were destructive to my work and subtracted rather than added to my craft).  I was finally fortunate enough to study with a truly gifted teacher, Darryl Hickman, who emphasized being in the moment rather than in your own past.   When Darryl left for California, I searched in vain for another simpatico teacher.  In rebellion to the unproductive and unhealthy approaches I experienced, and armed with an MA in Directing (see Coaching Resume), I started teaching acting.  That was over ten years ago.  In working with actors all these years, I have been able to create a technique that really works.
